Welcome to the Woodford NS Parent/Guardian Association Webpage 

Purpose of our Parent Association

The purpose of the Parent Association is to provide a forum for the parents/guardians of children attending St. Joseph’s National School to work together, in partnership with the Principal, Board of Management and the whole school community, to help provide the best possible education for children attending the school, in accordance with the provisions of the Education Act, 1998.

Role of our Parent Association

The Parent Association of St. Joseph’s National School is affiliated with the National Parents’ Council (NPC). Parents’ Associations that are affiliated with the NPC must work in accordance with guidelines issued by the NPC with the concurrence of the Minister for Education.

Our role encompasses:

i. To provide support for parents, especially new arrivals in the school.

ii. To support the school with various school events and activities as requested by the Principal and to provide practical help when required in the school.

iii. To support the school through organising fundraising events that will provide funds for the school and to utilise the funds as deemed appropriate by the Principal and the Board of Management.
